It’s with great pleasure that we announce that VauxFlores Pedals are now available at RetroTone Guitars in La Sabana, San José, Costa Rica – which, in our opinion is by far one of the best shops for high-quality music wares in the entire country. Whether you’re a local legend, an ex-pat with discerning tastes, a rock-star barista (or is it barista rock star?) on a pilgrimage to origin or some combination of all of the above, we highly implore you to drop by and check it out.

For those unfamiliar with addresses in Costa Rica, a quick lesson for you: street signs are optional at best and usually unused. Instead, directions are given in relation to various landmarks, parks and other sedentary objects. For instance, to get to the aforementioned guitar shop, in La Sabana – a central-park type area of the city that used to be an international airport but is now home to a very large soccer stadium, a couple ponds and oodles of eucalyptus trees – from the entrance of UCMED you go 100 meters south, 100 meters east and then 25 meters south. Following Paulina Velazquez-Solis‘ solo show at the Alianza Francesa in San José, Costa Rica as part of FIA 2012, we’re happy to announce that her colony of bugs are officially available for sale and adoption. Ever been interested in starting a small-scale invasion of the cute and furry persuasion? Now’s your chance. Another highway post by way of post-Coachella logistics and paperwork. For this installation, we’d like to turn your eyes towards our first foray onto the high seas of do-it-yourself craft ingenuity, erstwhile known as Etsy. Sailing this sea at the moment is a fur-adorned, special edition of Number 24. Why fur? Eh, seems to be a current trent, as exemplified in this site’s oddball electronics section – not to mention the notion of differentiation as opposed to duplication when it comes to selective marketing and all that. Regardless, by all means, please feel free to take a look.

A quick heads up from the highway that our old friend and frequent collaborator Ami Dang just got herself a nice little write up in Pitchfork Magazine this week by way of her new demo Sublimate. For any and all interested in checking out Ami’s work, check out her site. For those interested in the aforementioned reviewed track, feel free to press play and take a listen.

Folks asked, we promised – signed sealed, delivered, or whatever that might actually mean. Regardless, the first batch of US-produced, NY-sourced VauxFlores 24′s are now available for order. Feel free to take a look/listen and proceed to staple this darlin’ down for the duration – a full cornucopia of swiss-army tones awaits for you to take the plunge; hook, line, sinker, etc. Apologies – a little caught up on the americana at the moment. For those not in the know, Colornoise will be playing at Festival Imperial later this month, alongside such acts as Björk, The Flaming Lips and TV on the Radio. Tickets should still be available if the spirit moves, you’re in the area and haven’t picked up one already.

This track makes use of a full array of VauxFlores electronics, with both Numbers 23 and 24 doing their part to imbibe a certain sonic signature to the track. All said, I’m blown away with what they were able to come up with.
